Taipei 101 Run Up in Taiwan is one of the premier stair climbing events in 2012.

Taipei 101 Run Up 2012 – Taiwan

  • Maximum 4,000 participants, register online quickly
  • 91 floors
  • 2046 steps

Taipei 101 has an amazing tower running event (stair climbing) each year. This year it is on June 10th, 2012. If you are interested in registering for and attending this Asia event – see the information I received below by email. Beware – the registration closes months before the race – I missed out on registering and missed the whole race this year.

We are very glad to inform you that our run-up event this year is going to be held at June 10th.  Our official website: http://www.taipei-101.com.tw/ will be open for online registration starting on May 10th.

However, if you and your friends are professional runners, we will have to ask you to provide a record certification as your application shall be arranged differently.

That was what I received when I emailed them. Here is the link for their Taipei 101 Run Up page from past years – not sure if they will add 2012 information here before the race, or after – but, it’s worth a look starting about May 10th.

The race was held this morning beginning at 8am, despite a strong 6.0 earthquake in northwestern Taiwan at 0500 hours the same morning!

A time of 11:19 won it last year, 2011, for Dold. The male in tenth place overall pulled a 13:37.

For women, Valentina Belotti won in 13:51 and tenth place female overall had 16:54.

Wow, Valentina cut 30 seconds off her time there this time. It will be great to see a woman win overall at one of these stair climbing events – won’t it?
