Bangkok Vertical Mile

In 2011 the race was postponed to January 22, 2012 because of severe flooding in Bangkok, Thailand. The race is held at the Banyan Tree Hotel on Sathorn Road.

This race is 1093 steps, and 61 floors. In 2010, the winner completed the race in 6:12. Tenth place was 7:47. Twentieth place was 8:44. So, it’s very competitive for the win. There is a Thai guy that has won the event the last 8 years I think it is.

Registration for the race is just 350 Thai Baht (about $11 USD). All money will go to the Thai Red Cross to support their HIV formula feeding project fund. Registration for this famous in Asia stair climbing even can be done the morning of the race about 6 am (0600 hours).

Welcome to Go Up It!

Stair climbing is my latest passion, and I've been climbing a local mountain staircase very regularly for the last five years. Climbing stairs for exercise gives your body and mind an amazing lift - and I really think it has the potential to change your life outlook, in a positive way.
