Diet Update – No Workout Today

No stair climbing today. No running. No upside down push-ups.

Had a long walk with my daughter today – and half the time I carried her – along with backpack, but, I can’t call that a workout. My knees are giving me sharp twinges lately. This is, no doubt, feedback for climbing 2 steps at a time when I climb the mountain. As I said, I hadn’t done much 2-stepping prior to the last couple weeks.

I didn’t just switch gradually, I switched instantly. I figured my knees were strong enough to handle it. My quads are!

So I think I’m getting a lot of negative activity from that. It probably doesn’t help that I run in my hard sports sandals on the concrete around the park either. Hmm. Something has to change here so I can get to my first Bangkok stairs race. Things are not looking so great just 3 weeks out from it.

Stair Climb Race Preparation Diet today:

Breakfast – one small banana, some instant coffee.

Lunch – Excellent Thai veggie soup with lots of cabbage, mushrooms, cauliflower and then some boiled fish on the side (about 2 ounces).

Dinner – Wifey came through and brought back two corn on the cobs! I also just had 1/2 a dragon fruit.

Total calories today?

About 550.

Most times during the day I feel fine. I did feel a bit dizzy and tired today while carrying my daughter around. She’s only 12 kg. Must have low blood sugar. VERY low, since I have nothing I used to have.

Alfred, the legend, is back at the mountain stair climb as of today… lanced cyst on his hand and all. I hope we both make it to the race – it’s getting to be up in the air!
