Baiyoke Sky Hotel Run Up Race 2012 Video

I wasn’t able to make it to this Thailand stair climbing event due to some severe dizziness I had just days before the event. I decided best not to go and risk not being able to run it, and it turned out to be a good choice. I was dizzy for 4 days. I’m STILL dizzy.

Anyway, my friend Alfred did do the Baiyoke Sky Hotel run up in Bangkok on April 1st, 2012 – and got the following videos I spliced into one. Thanks Alfred!

The race was won by one of the Kenyan runners in a time around 12:30. There are 18 floors of parking lot garage to run up prior to hitting the steps. There are 84 floors of steps minus 18 parking floors – so, 68 floors of steps to climb.

Wish I could have made it – will be there next year more than likely…

Cheers,

Vern

Heh Vern thanks for doing the write ups on my dad I have been wanting someone to recognise his amazing fitness and mental strength! He is a huge inspiration to me, dad introduced me to running and I am doing my first full Marathon this September in his honour :)

That’s great to hear Adele. He told me you did a half marathon already – amazing. Though I’ve done triathlons, running races… etc – I’ve yet to even do a half marathon. You’re doing great! I love spending time with your dad – he’s got a lot of insight into how to train, and this coming from what he’s learned first-hand usually. I have more material to put up over time – and always trying to film more videos. My email is: aimforawesome@gmail.com, let me know what yours is. Cheers, Vern.
